Good morning friends and family! I apologize for the lack of a post yesterday, but I have a good excuse – we spent the day in beautiful Normandy!
Yesterday morning the team woke up at 6:45 and piled onto a north bound bus, headed straight to the sea. We arrived three hours later and stepped onto American soil. That’s right! Our 4th of July was a sincerely special one, as the group went to historic Omaha beach to visit the American Cemetery. We spent the morning in quiet remembrance of the brave soldiers who fought during World War II, many of whom lost their lives and are forever celebrated at the memorial. There was a mix of sadness and pride for us yesterday, a truly memorable Independence Day.
After we visited the cemetery and memorial, we drove to Arromanches-les-Bains (a nearby town) and stopped for lunch and free-time. Beautiful ocean views and seaside shops were a wonderful way to escape city-life for a bit.
Not too many photos of the kiddos today, but I will badger them tonight to send me their personal pics! Will post them ASAP!
Wait a second. I just might…have a few more…
Thought some of you might enjoy these sleepy pics. It was certainly a long day. I’m totally going to get in trouble for posting these.
Here are some other photos from the week:

Michael’s class at the d’Orsay museum! Pairs present their favorite paintings, in French! – discussing key technical and stylistic elements, and how these artistic decisions affect the viewer.
Check back in tomorrow for more Putney Pre-College Paris adventures! Only one week left – how the time does fly!
